AMS Gouge Auger, 2-1/2” x 40”

Ideal for collection of undisturbed samples from very soft and preferably very wet soils with minimal disturbance of soft cohesive layers such as wet clay or peat. The sharp cutting edges allow you to simply push the long, tapered stainless steel, semi-cylindrical chamber into the soil, twist, and recover to display a full and virtually undisturbed profile of peaty soil. Designed for use with AMS Standard Thread-On Extensions and Cross Handles.

The handle and extensions must be purchases separately. The AMS standard 5/8" NC connection handle and extensions are compatible with this auger.
